I
have had the pleasure of playing Earl's instruments
on many occassions. The sound always projects well and
the instruments are very well balanced. The tone is
always warm and clean. The instruments are also beautifully
crafted and finished. They are a pleasure to play.

It
is rare that aesthetic beauty and beautiful sonority combine
in an instrument. Luthiers that are too preoccupied with the
appearance of their instruments can neglect the sound, and vice
versa. Earl Marsh’s guitars are a most welcome exception.
Not only is the attention to detail in the woodwork quite remarkable,
but he manages to produce well balanced instruments that have
great power, penetration and warmth. Having being fortunate
enough to play Earl Marsh guitars both brand new and several
years old, I can say that the mature instrument had grown in
stature to become a more dignified yet still extremely lively
guitar. Any buyer can be safe in the knowledge that no matter
how strong his initial impression of these marvellous instruments,
the guitar he buys will over time become even better.

"My
teacher Carlos Bonnell remarked on the excellence of my Earl
Marsh Guitar. Everyone who hears it comments on its great
sound. It certainly gives me an incentive to improve my playing
to bring out the best in this lovely instrument". |

On meeting Earl, I was immediately impressed with his infectious
enthusiasm and encyclopaedic knowledge of classical guitar
lutherie. This passion (together with his outstanding craftsmanship)
is reflected in instruments that look gorgeous and play like
a dream. Mine is called “Megan” – a beautiful
spruce and Indian rosewood Torres instrument with great playability,
wonderful balance and clear sweet tones.

SOME WORDS FROM JOHN MILLS
"Earl
is a luthier with a passion for the guitar, and a driving enthusiasm
and determination to make beautiful instruments. His work in
the field of Torres/Hauser patterns is to be admired greatly,
and I am delighted that he has achieved this success which is
so richly deserved.
Upon playing his instruments in public recitals, I have found
they have a purity and clarity of tone, excellent balance and
projection, combined with an ease of playability - in short,
a fine concert guitar".
